Meet the Casita.
The most exciting thing about the Casita’s renovation was doing something we’ve never seen done before…removing the second bath! Our clients didn’t use it and wanted to open up the kitchen/living area. Brilliant! As you can imagine, there were some structural confines that we needed to work within so the redesign took a few brainstorming sessions. A favorite detail is the secret closet hidden in the wall treatment in what was the toy hauler area. Our clients wanted to convert that space to a multi-functional room. We started by leveling the floor and planned for a yoga lounge, office, second bedroom, and storage for e-bikes. Removing the bathroom also allowed us to reconfigure the living area. We moved the TV to the exterior wall which made a significant impact on the flow of the room and available floor space. Our clients didn’t want to loose storage so we built in pantry drawer shelves and walled off the loft moving access for storage to the yoga lounge. In the kitchen, RW re-built the island and modified its cabinets to house a trash can, something that’s almost always missing in RVs. After more calls than I care to admit, I found a company willing to replace the counters with high end Corian and they are a show stopper! In the bathroom, we removed the bulky (and heavy) shower surround and replaced it with an open (lighter) shower making the room feel twice the size! Moving into the primary bedroom, our number one task was rebuilding the washer/dryer closet. Upon initial inspection, we discovered that the dryer vent was torn and crushed leaving the dryer venting into the closet and in turn bedroom which is not safe! RW spent many, many hours making proper room for the vent hose, fixing the vent cover, and reinforcing the closet floor which was also failing. Bedding, a new headboard, custom side tables, and closet corrections made the bedroom attractive and functional. The overall design for the Casita was inspired by the beautiful wallpaper our client picked. Coordinating paint, new floors, fixtures, lighting, and decor turned a grey and brown RV into an amazing home on wheels perfectly curated for our clients. At just over 43 feet, this is our biggest renovation to date and the size and scope of this project stretched us in ways we weren’t expecting and are absolutely better for!
