Meet Ellison.

From Ellison’s most amazing seasonal site in Wisconsin’s picturesque Door County right down to the walnut handrail RW crafted for our clients, now friends, this renovation was an absolutely wonderful collaboration. This RV came to us as they all do, grey (or brown) and lacking charm and character. (Sorry, RV manufacturers.) While we prioritize safety and function, it’s important to us that our renovations are also beautiful and reflect the style & sense of home our clients desire. Ellison is very near the great Lake Michigan and nestle into a quiet forest so we selected design elements that complimented the surroundings starting with our inspiration piece, the closet curtains in the primary bedroom. Needing a statement for the rear of the RV we were excited to find the perfect wallpaper for the back wall with picture window. Adjacent, RW custom built the fireplace of our client’s dreams adding to the already warm ambiance. Moving into the kitchen, for the first time, we added a real tile backsplash as this rig is stationary. We kept the original appliances and countertops but wrapped the island in shiplap, updated the faucet, lighting & hardware, and carefully selected paint to compliment the curtain fabric and wallpaper. Our clients have four fur babies so making space for puppy beds was a priority. We accomplished this by designing a drop down live edge walnut table and built in bench seating with storage for shoes and dog treats. We also swapped an oversized loveseat for a chair and small side table making the space more functional. Moving into the bathroom, we removed the heavy glass doors and opted for a shower curtain which visually opened up the room. A new shower surround, bar shower head, counter, sink, faucet, and tile backsplash along with a subtle change in wall color brought life & luxury to a once dull & dim space. Custom trim on the bedroom door and wall added previously missing texture and visual interest. We removed an unused dresser again making space for sleeping dogs and added a headboard, fluffy bedding, and side tables for sleeping humans. Stem to stern, every detail of this renovation was the vision of our clients, coordinated and crafted by Driftless RV Renovators. Together, we are making home anywhere.
